Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.

Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.

We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

Painting and SS Update

One Painter was mummified spray painting whilst other two worked outside.
SS called, back from Xmas break today - Quality Assurance Inspection, Electrical Fitoff and Tiling once painting is finished.
On completion of this work SS will schedule a PCI date.
Painters were extremely grateful for the 'drinks' I left them today.

  1. It's coming along so fast! And looks fantastic!!! Have you had any issues with the tradies and being allowed on-site?

  2. Hello Shelley? - we are very happy. No issues with tradies and going on site. We always introduce ourselves, don't get in their way, ask to take photos etc... plus slab of beer/wine to thank the major trades always helps. We've had two site meetings with SS, New Homes Inspections at Pre Plaster and will request another with SS following tiling. Also, requested meeting with electrician and tiler for any clarification required. New Home Inspections will be at our PCI. Have looked at your blog and left messages great.

  3. Hi Debra,
Yes it is Shelley. :) I didn't get an option to change my name when i left the comment... That's fantastic, that the tradies have been so accomodating. Wish that I'd been able to be on site to at least see what they've done. Won't be too long for you- maybe 6 weeks at the most? Our painters were in mid- Oct, and handover was start of Dec. So looking forward to seeing all your colours come together!

  4. Shelley, we have been fortunate with house access - I work three half days a week (ladies hours), live within 10 minutes and a lot of work has been done on weekends. Agree, we anticipate completion late February. Currently pricing plantation shutters and OMG they take a long time....I'm too old (mature) for sheets!
