Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.

Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.

We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

Independent Inspection - Pre-Plaster Rectification Work

Gas ducted heating and evaporative air conditioning pipework installed in roof.  Plastering was to commence Thursday - due to our Independent Inspection Report plastering will be rescheduled following rectification work to frame.

Independent Inspection

Electrical rough-in completed and ducted vacuum pipework installed. A last minute decision - we organized a Pre-Plaster Inspection by Kevin at New Homes Inspections. Some frame issues to be taken care of before plaster - Kevin didn't verbally report anything major. Carlisle Homes Construction Manager will have the written Report tomorrow morning. $ well spent for reassurance of workmanship and adherence to Building Codes. We also booked an Inspection for our PCI prior to Handover.

ROOF AND RIDGE CAPPING COMPLETED

Roof completed and its been an eventful evening.  John started putting our noggins in whilst I swept and blew the house thru until dark.  On our departure 'flat battery'!!! aaarrrrgh!! we know no-one, neither has brought their mobile phone and we look like a couple of hobo's, BonBon in tow.  We trotted off to the nearest house with living people and introduced ourselves to our lovely neighbours (you know who you are) who kindly gave us a jump start.  Thankyou, Thankyou, your help was greatly appreciated. I think we've left our mark in Faringdon Crescent.

FRAME COMPLETED - WINDOWS INSTALLED

Frame completed - awaiting inspection. Windows installed and roof tiles delivered. Site Supervisor 'Gary' called to introduce himself - arranged an introduction meeting and walkthru inspection for next Tuesday. Gutters and fascias to be installed before roof tiling next week.  Also, met our back neighbours - waiting on imminent Title of land to begin construction.  SE Water moved our meters and taps, now we don't see them from inside the front door. Site and house clean - excellent job.
