Sanding is completed, house has been swept clean and an excellent job covering and sealing all windows and cabinets with plastic sheets.

Isnt it nice to see tradespeople who respect homes, looks like you had been there beforehand with your trusty broom Deb!! So exciting, you are almost in the winning straight now! I am increasingly getting very disappointed at no word from our builder - he must be still on holidays, ok for him, but bloody frustrating for me, after 10 months of waiting, I want to get going.
ReplyDeleteThe painters are very nice and appear to take pride in their work. All woodwork is filled and sanded. Windows/winders and cabinets are precisely covered and masked up. Painters swept the floors - perhaps making some comment yesterday helped?! They told me we will be very happy with the result 'best painter in Melbourne'; I laughed. Will take slab of beer and wine as a thankyou in the morning.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating with no word from your Builder - especially now the land is titled your understandably excited to start. I wish everyone would hurry up; more residents needed for that Xmas 2011 drink in the Park.
"Best painter in Melbourne", that's adorable! Let's hope they live up to their own hype. Still can't wait to see your walls finished!!!!
ReplyDeleteJanine, it shouldn't take long to get you on site now - should it? Have you had your final costings through yet based on the soil test??
Reinsey - I told him I'll hold him to that title. They will undercoat tomorrow; next week we shall see Beige Royal Quarter in all its glory.
ReplyDeleteLooking good Deb - we did peek through the window the other day.
ReplyDeleteLoz the peeping Tom. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThank you Loz - anxiously watching everything come together. Perhaps we'll all be enjoying a drink in 'Our Savannah' whilst Reinsey is running up and down, ripping hair out barking mad in Fieldstone; still freaking over colours!!!! Sooo funny but we all feel the same.
ReplyDeleteThat's a negative Reinsey, have not heard a thing since the conversation before Xmas where he told us our site costs would be "bugger all". I sent him a very nice friendly Happy New Year Email last week telling him how much we are looking forward to starting asap - and have heard nothing. Thank god we have a wedding to go to in 3 weeks in NZ it takes the focus away slightly. But I am so happy for all you guys!!! And I agree, we gotta have that party in the park next (oops) this year!!
ReplyDeleteAwww... I'm not bad!! All I wanted to change was the orange splash back to beige royal, but nooooooooooooooo. Apparently they've already ordered it...4 months before it's going to be installed. I'm fully out of love with them today. AND they tried to cheat us out of $2K.
ReplyDeleteCan you go camp out on their door Janine??? You'll be joining me running up and down the road soon.. wooooop woop woooooop.
No your just a worrier and perfectionist like the rest of us....already ordered my ar...! Anyway, the orange will look stunning. Carlisle are back on board are they? coz we're still waiting for a 'please explain' from the Construction Manager.
ReplyDeleteTwo of you running up and down the street - now thats something to look forward to.
What did they do that prompted a please explain Deb?
ReplyDeleteWe're now having "discussions" about a few things. We've been able to prove that they owe us $2K, but we had to prove they had added a Feb site start allowance into the price. We've now discovered that our lounge (which is our home theatre) double doors we had added are normal height rather than the 2340mm we requested. They WON'T change this!!!!! Reinsey is starting to get angry!!!
