Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.

Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.

We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

Handles and Tiramisu

Before setting out this morning in search of colour inspiration in window coverings, cushions etc.. I called my Carlisle CLE to question the whereabouts of our cabinet handles (refer my rant before Xmas). Our handle selection had been discontinued but 'stock' still in Sydney and were to be posted. I wanted reassurance this had not been forgotten.

Janine, a future 'Avenue' neighbour and I organized to meet at house this afternoon and head off for coffee.

Coincidence?  I found cabinet maker fitting the elusive handles.
Great bloke who Janine closely supervised in the Ensuite whilst I beamed to finally see handles. We also had the task of choosing (from an ordinary palette) screw covers for the overhead open cabinets. I had complained of the colour match; this definitely required a woman's touch......thanks for the help Janine. Cabinet maker was also installing overhead 'Perspex Pearlescent Pearl' doors - excellent.
Painting is completed - Beige Royal Quarter with Natural White ceilings looks beautiful.
Templates for Caesarstone benchtops in kitchen, bathroom and ensuite have been picked up.

Me a happy lady and after scrutinizing Janine's bootful of potential tiles and laminates we did a quick pitstop to make sure her land was still there before an Excel and Echo belted towards Berwick for well earned coffee.

Missed you Reinsey - Tonia, just a little too far?

Beige Royal Quarter

After so much rain followed by sunshine yesterday I was surprised after 5.30 p.m. to find one Painter still hard at work. Tough job coupled with paint fumes and humid conditions.
Progress Inside - 'Natural White' ceiling finished, first coat of 'Beige Royal Quarter' on walls, glossy doors lined up and Painter was busy with woodwork.
Finished Outside - Alfresco and Porch ceilings 'Natural White', Alfresco Beams 'Dune', plus window lintels and garage beam finished.
Excellent workmanship.

Painter

WHERE IS OUR PAINTER?

A fellow blogger (Tonia) in Sydney has just found him relaxing, drinking and tanning himself  before returning to Melbourne.  I think he looks young and fit enough to make up for lost time....what do you think?  I hope he's as good with a brush and roller as he looks.
