Just the Two of Us
After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.
Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.
We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

Frame Holdup
Frame not completed.....timber stolen!!! Replacement timber required before trusses can be delivered and erected. Contacted SE Water to enquire moving water meters and taps; 600mm left or right only - $132 before plumber connects to house. Oak Tree planting continues along Mountain View Boulevarde.

Frame - B.S. Who would DO that? Just when you were looking at the world's quickest build too. Hope it gets back on track quick smart.
ReplyDeleteWater meter - that's not so bad, considering all of the other costs we get thrown. Who chooses the tap location, builder, or developer?
Oak Trees - Yea. I love 'em, just so I can use my fav quote. "Today's mighty oak tree is just yesterdays nut that held its ground." Surely I'll become a tree one of these days!!??
How you feeling today??
I'm picking up thanks Reinsey, so over the drizzly rain. Bummer about the timber, comes with building unfortunately. I'm sure they'll be back on track asap. Tap, cheaper to move now than wait when move in. Position - I asked the same of SE water, they said the developer chooses the location and they connect to that point, nothing to do with builder. I will smile even more when I drive thru the Oak Trees.
ReplyDeleteHow desperate are they to nick timber - unbelievable!! The old saying "anything that's not nailed down"! I was wondering about those gum trees, thought they had all died - very strange as gums are virtually indestructible.
ReplyDeleteYep...I think its usually an inside job - gotta have a long truck to get those timbers in!! Sad about the gums but look at the rain we've had. Will see tonight if we've progressed with frame.
ReplyDeleteWent past your house today Deb, and see that they have progressed further with your frame, woo hoo, must have found some more timber.
ReplyDeleteBeat me to it Janine....just about to post some photos.
