I decided to visit Spectra and select backup handles. Another Consultant was very helpful and surprised to learn the colour was discontinued as she is still having clients choose from this range. Apparently, only the Polished Chrome is discontinued with Melbourne having none in stock and 600 in Sydney. As the cabinet maker is waiting on handles and until Carlisle decide what to do I selected alternatives.
Kitchen and Laundry - same handles in Aluminium Stainless Steel
Bathroom and Ensuite - same shape, more slender handle in Aluminium Polished Chrome to match bathroom fittings
I hope no other selections are discontinued as this was as exhausting as the first round.
On Site - brickies continue plus skirtings, architraves and internal doors delivered for carpenter.
New selection for bathroom and ensuite cabinets Middle horizontal handle in Polished Chrome |
Original selection - top and middle handle for kitchen/laundry cabinets and kitchen pot drawers Now in Aluminium Stainless Steel |
They look lovely Debra..very similar to your original choices! I wouldn't worry too much if you can't get your originals :) Great choices!
ReplyDeleteYour up late too Tonia - thank you, their only handles but oh boy don't need these hiccups to what has so far been a dream build. Any more activity on your site.
ReplyDeleteThey look great Deb! Excellent problem solving skills. Stuff waiting for a decision... Sometimes you've just gotta get in there and get it done!!!
ReplyDeleteWe won't be on site til next year now :(
Thanks Reinsey, either selection will work. Would still like to know if cabinet maker has fitted any handles, hence, has to replace to match? Hopefully get an answer today. Can't stand the procrastinating at the office and certainly don't want to hold up delivery of kitchen and vanities. How come no scrape or slab as you were expecting? Your stage is temporary fencing city.
ReplyDeleteStill no permit through as yet. And they don't want to have a half prepped site if they can't pour the slab pre Xmas. Bummer! Was hoping for the slab to cure during the break. I'm still hopeful of an Easter move though (coz it's the only weekend I have off work from march to September)
ReplyDeleteReinsey we can be building buddies next year don't stress!
