Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.

Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.

We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

  2. Yes, coming along nicely - even better when cleaned. Is that your block with a Portaloo?

  3. Ahhh... blog lag! As you now know, the loo is mine. TG I don't have to clean it.
If all goes to plan we may have a scrape this week, slab the next. And yes, that'll mean a Christmas Day chicken and champagne breakfast on the slab. pathetic!!!!!

  5. Oops...also includes Lockup and Fixing Invoices!!
Found out today another Carlisle Home to be constructed diagonally opposite us. Faringdon Crescent is filling up nicely.

  6. Eeewwwww... I'm not looking forward to the invoices. Had a finance inspired mini-meltdown during the week. I'm hoping our contribution comes with the end payment rather than the first, but I'm guessing it's the latter.
Do you have to pay lock up yet when technically, without bricking completed, its not locked up?
Any idea which Carlisle house is going up?

  7. Won't be paying any Lockup until bricking is finished nor Fixing as specified in Contract plus we will request a walkthru inspection with SS to keep on top of any issues we notice. No idea which Carlisle house. Apparently, a resale block. The neighbour was pleased to find out a Carlisle single storey as previous land owners were building a two storey on his swimming pool side.

  9. Hey Janine, That picture was especially for you. Can't wait to see construction in your stage too. Have you seen how many sites have commenced in Reinseys stage?. Builders are really getting a move on?

  10. Will be down again next Sunday to visit our titled block so will check everything out then will look out for you. Our daughter has lunch on at Lynbrook hotel that day so will be there around lunchtime again. Hope we can get this builder of ours moving now after so long as we want to start asap, we have waited so long, but at this time of the year the all go on holidays so it will be difficult.

  11. Janine, if you see our cars please say hello, it would be nice to 'stop' one day for coffee and chat. Close to Christmas and best do some of that 'stuff' too. Currently working everyday and building a house is so consuming. We have tried to keep on top of keeping the house clean inside before 2nd fixing, kitchen etc...our days look numbered with lockup.

  12. You will have to keep a look out for one of those builders keys so you can get in, with all that cleaning you have been doing it would be a shame to see it all messy!
