Just the Two of Us

Just the Two of Us

After 35+ years of marriage, two wonderful sons, living and working in Australia, Sweden, UK and USA we are now 'just the two of us' plus a very spoilt Shitzu.

Following five years at The Sandhurst Club it is time to downsize. Our criteria - build a new home in a development within ten minutes of John's Sandhurst Golf Club, access to Monash and Eastlink Freeways, all new infrastructure and proposed services, recycled water and no Management Company or Body Corporate Fees.

We invite you to view our journey as we build with Carlisle Homes our 'Savannah 28' at 'The Avenue at Casey', a masterplanned community meeting all our criteria.

What a surprise - we didn't expect to see any framework this side of Melbourne Cup plus it has not stopped raining!  Two guys hard at work who had been working Saturday as well.  Informed us they will be finished tomorrow night and roof trusses Wednesday. WOW!

Make shift tent to keep tools dry

  1. That's pretty impressive to be working in this weather. 2 more days and you (plus all of us living vicariously thru ur build) can walk through your rooms. If ur like me you can already walk thru it by closing your eyes. I reckon I know every measurement, every power point and switch location. Sad really :)

  2. You make me laugh....yes, we know every inch, power point etc...so glad to see they hadn't forgotten our 2740 ceilings, tall doors, window modifications etc...coz when you change their plans you never know. Went back late afternoon, will post more pictures. Only someone building (or waiting) can comprehend the excitement of such small developments.

  3. How totally true!! I'm loving being able to share all of this with the blog posse. My daughter swears that if I show her another paint sample she'll paint me! People at work think that surfmist is something that rises from the ocean and Jasper is a good boys name. Thank goodness for everyone we've found on here!!

  4. Deb, we drove past your house today to check it out and saw the make-shift tent the guys had made - didn't think the male species had quite so much initiative!!! Its nice to know where you are now, and we will check on you every time we visit, if you happen to be there one day we will stop and say hi!
